Bookkeeper – High Wycombe | Up to £35,000 Introduction
A respected local accountancy firm in High Wycombe is seeking a capable and organised Bookkeeper to join their growing team. About the Role
You’ll be an integral part of a supportive team, managing day-to-day bookkeeping duties for a range of clients, from sole traders to limited companies. The role will suit someone who’s confident managing multiple clients, thrives on accuracy, and enjoys being part of a friendly, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
- Preparing VAT returns and submitting to HMRC
- Reconciling bank accounts, control accounts and ledgers
- Supporting the preparation of management accounts
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring deadlines are met
- Liaising directly with clients to answer queries and provide clear advice
- Using modern accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Dext, etc.)
What You’ll Bring
- At least 3 years’ experience in a bookkeeping or accounts role, ideally within practice
- Good working knowledge of VAT and general bookkeeping principles
- Confident using cloud accounting software (Xero or similar)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable manner
- AAT qualified or qualified by experience
