Senior Accountant | Aylesbury Vale | £40,000 – £50,000 DOE | Full Time

A well-established and growing accountancy practice in Aylesbury Vale is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join its friendly, professional team. This is a hands-on role offering varied client exposure, autonomy, and clear scope to progress as the practice continues to expand.

The Role Working with a diverse portfolio of SME clients, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality accounts and tax work, supporting clients day-to-day, and helping to maintain excellent service standards across the team.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
• Producing and reviewing management accounts
• Preparing corporate and personal tax returns
• Supporting VAT returns and bookkeeping work where needed
• Liaising directly with clients, answering queries and providing guidance
• Reviewing work and supporting/mentoring junior team members
• Assisting with practice improvements and helping drive efficiencies

About You To be considered, you’ll ideally have:

• ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent); QBE also considered
• 3 years’ accountancy practice experience (essential)
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance
• Experience using Xero (essential); exposure to QuickBooks/Sage is beneficial
• Confident communication skills and a client-focused approach
• A proactive, organised working style

Salary & Benefits

• £40,000 – £50,000 depending on experience
• Bonus available
• Hybrid working available after probation
