Bookkeeper – High Wycombe | Up to £35,000 Introduction
A respected local accountancy firm in High Wycombe is seeking a capable and organised Bookkeeper to join their growing team. This position offers a steady, long-term opportunity with genuine variety and client interaction — ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on bookkeeping and working closely with business owners.

About the Role
You’ll be an integral part of a supportive team, managing day-to-day bookkeeping duties for a range of clients, from sole traders to limited companies. The role will suit someone who’s confident managing multiple clients, thrives on accuracy, and enjoys being part of a friendly, professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
  • Preparing VAT returns and submitting to HMRC
  • Reconciling bank accounts, control accounts and ledgers
  • Supporting the preparation of management accounts
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Liaising directly with clients to answer queries and provide clear advice
  • Using modern accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Dext, etc.)

What You’ll Bring

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a bookkeeping or accounts role, ideally within practice
  • Good working knowledge of VAT and general bookkeeping principles
  • Confident using cloud accounting software (Xero or similar)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable manner
  • AAT qualified or qualified by experience
