Bookkeeper (Practice) | Aylebsury | £30,000 – £38,000 DOE | Permanent, Full Time

Some bookkeeping roles are repetitive and reactive. This one is different.

You’ll join a well-established Aylesbury practice where bookkeeping is treated as a valued part of the service — not an afterthought. You’ll take responsibility for your own client work, keep records clean and compliant, and build relationships with people who appreciate reliable support.

It suits someone who wants to feel trusted, keep standards high, and work across a broad mix of clients rather than being stuck in one routine.

Your focus will be on:

Day-to-day bookkeeping using cloud accounting platforms

Keeping ledgers accurate and reconciled, ready for accounts/VAT deadlines

VAT returns and compliance support across a range of clients

CIS submissions and contractor bookkeeping where applicable

Handling registrations and HMRC liaison as needed

Spotting issues early and keeping clients on track (rather than firefighting late)

You’ll be a good fit if you:

Have practice or multi-client bookkeeping experience

Are confident taking work through to trial balance

Understand VAT well and can work to deadlines without chasing

Have CIS exposure (helpful, not essential)

Communicate clearly with clients and colleagues

Whats on Offer:

Competitive salary of £30,000 – £36,000 per year depending on experience

A supportive and professional working environment

Opportunities for career development and ongoing training

Friendly, collaborative team culture

Payroll Administrator | Remote | Up to £34,000 | PermanentAre you an experienced payroll professional looking for a role that gives you […]

Payroll Administrator | Remote | Up to £34,000 | Permanent
Are you an experienced payroll professional looking for a role that gives you the flexibility of remote working — without sacrificing the support, progression and teamwork of being part of a thriving organisation? This could be the opportunity for you.

We are recruiting a Payroll Administrator on behalf of a leading national accountancy and business advisory firm. With a strong and growing client base, an ambitious culture and a clear commitment to its people, this is a business going places — and they want driven, detail-oriented payroll professionals to grow with them.

This is a primarily remote role, offering genuine flexibility in how and where you work. You will be expected to attend the office — located conveniently on the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire border — for key team meetings and training, so you remain connected to a genuinely collaborative and forward-thinking team.

The Role
Working as part of a dedicated payroll team, you will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time for a portfolio of clients. You will build strong relationships with clients and colleagues, handle day-to-day queries, and ensure full compliance with HMRC requirements and relevant legislation. No two days will be entirely the same, and you will have the backing of a large, specialist firm behind you.

Key Responsibilities

Processing end-to-end payroll for a client portfolio, including weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls

Submitting Real Time Information (RTI) to HMRC accurately and on time

Managing new starters, leavers and mid-period changes

Administering auto-enrolment pension contributions and maintaining accurate records

Handling payroll queries from clients and employees in a professional and timely manner

Supporting year-end processes including P60s and P11D reporting where applicable

Staying up to date with changes in payroll legislation and HMRC requirements

Collaborating with the wider accounts and advisory teams to ensure a seamless client experience

What We’re Looking For
You will thrive in this role if you bring solid payroll experience and a genuine passion for accuracy. We are looking for someone equally comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team.

Demonstrable experience in payroll administration, either in-house or within an accountancy or payroll bureau environment

Working knowledge of payroll legislation, HMRC requirements and auto-enrolment

Confident using payroll software — experience with IRIS, Sage or similar platforms is advantageous

Highly accurate with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure

Excellent communication skills with the confidence to liaise with clients directly

Self-motivated and well-organised, with the ability to manage your own workload remotely

CIPP qualification is desirable but not essential — a positive attitude and willingness to develop will be equally valued

Why This Opportunity Stands Out
In a competitive market for payroll talent, this role genuinely stands apart. Here is what makes it worth your attention:

Primarily remote working with the trust and autonomy to manage your own day

Join one of the most ambitious and fast-growing accountancy firms in the UK — a business with real momentum behind it

Clear internal career pathways — this firm invests meaningfully in the progression of its people

Collaborative, relationship-driven culture where you are supported, not just managed

A friendly, people-first team that values quality of work and quality of life

Exposure to a varied and interesting client base across multiple sectors

Location
Remote — with travel to the Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire border office for key meetings and training
Salary
Up to £34,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Contract
Full-Time, Permanent
Sector
Public Practice / Accountancy
